NEW ERA DAWNS AT LASCON: DR. OGUNMUYIWA TAKES HELM, VOWS GLOBAL COMPETITIVENESS FOR NURSING PROFESSION
A new chapter has officially begun at the Lagos State College of Nursing Igando, as Dr. (Mrs.) Ayodeji Ogunmuyiwa was sworn in as the new substantive Provost. In her inaugural address on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, Dr. Ogunmuyiwa pledged to elevate LASCON's academic and professional standards, with a clear vision to ensure its graduates are globally competitive and equipped to meet the evolving healthcare needs of Lagos State and beyond.
Acknowledging LASCON's pivotal role in addressing the state's healthcare demands by producing world-class health professionals, the new Provost expressed unwavering commitment to raising the institution's profile nationally and internationally. She also emphasized her dedication to maintaining a consistent and smooth academic calendar.
"There is work to be done," Dr. Ogunmuyiwa stated during her official welcome ceremony at the College. "We need to cover more ground if we hope to elevate the standards of nursing education in this institution and, by extension, the State. I want all of you to join me in fulfilling this very critical mandate. It is hard, but not impossible."
In a show of support, Mr. Adeniran Kasali, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tertiary Education, reiterated the crucial need for all staff members to rally around the new Provost. He urged them to support her quest to improve the fortunes of the tertiary institution and enhance its competitiveness within the educational landscape.
Mrs. Rashidat Adams, Head of Administration and Human Resources, also welcomed Dr. Ogunmuyiwa, affirming the entire workforce's readiness to offer unwavering support.

Below we list some of the features such an offer or claim may have:
A). It may propose a phone or instant message program interview as a precondition to receiving an admission
B). Money or fees may be requested to process an application
C). You may be requested to disclose private, sensitive, or confidential information
D). You may be told that you were contacted in such a manner because it is a matter of urgency
E). Such an offer or claim will probably be in the form of an email sent from a fake email address or from a free email provider such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, Outlook, etc, and not from an official LASCON email address.
Please take extra caution while examining such an email address, as the perpetrators may misspell an official LASCON email address and use a slightly modified version of an official LASCON email address.
Criminal and/or civil liabilities may arise from such actions and we intend to cooperate with competent law enforcement agencies and ask them to take appropriate action whenever such phenomena occur. Accordingly, we would ask you to immediately get in touch with us via email at reportfraud@lascon.edu.ng upon receiving a suspicious offer or claim and additionally notify the police or other competent authority.
In any case, please disregard any written or oral request for an admission offer or an interview that you believe is or might be fraudulent or suspicious.
Please note that under no circumstances shall LASCON be held liable or responsible for any claims, losses, damages, expenses or other inconvenience resulting from or in any way connected to the actions of these imposters.
